Monday has a terrible reputation. “Manic Monday,” “I hate Mondays,” “Five more days to go”… But what if, instead of dreading Monday, we learned to welcome it as a fresh start?

You don’t need a radical transformation. Five small rituals — done in less than an hour — are enough to change the tone of the entire week. Here they are.

1. Wake up 15 minutes earlier than usual

Fifteen extra minutes won’t change your sleep, but they change your mood. Getting up in a rush, chased by the alarm, puts your body into stress mode from the very first second of the day.

Those fifteen extra minutes are a gift you give yourself: time to wake up slowly, to breathe, to feel in charge of your own time before the day even truly begins.

2. Write three intentions for the week

Not a to-do list. Three intentions. That is, three ways you want to feel, or three values you want to carry with you this week.

Examples: “I want to be present in conversations,” “I want to move every day,” “I want to allow myself to ask for help.” They’re compasses, not obligations.

3. Make something nice for breakfast

It doesn’t have to be elaborate. Even just a cup of coffee drunk sitting down, calmly, without looking at your phone.

The food we devote to ourselves on Monday morning is a message we send to ourselves: “You deserve care. Today too.”

4. Do 10 minutes of movement

You don’t need a gym. Ten minutes of stretching, a walk around the block, a few deep breaths on the balcony. The body wakes up, cortisol drops, endorphins rise.

Monday morning is the perfect moment to establish: the body comes before the notifications.

5. Choose a single priority for today

Not twenty things. One. The one that, if done, will make you feel satisfied with this Monday.

Write it down somewhere — on a sticky note, on your phone, in your notebook. And then protect it. If you manage to do only that one thing today, Monday has already been a success.

Monday is not the enemy

Monday is simply the first chapter of seven. And like every chapter, it depends on how we open it.

Start this week with just one of these five rituals — the one that feels most accessible — and notice how you feel by evening.
